Privacy policy

Effective August 11, 2026.

This policy explains how Reheard and its developer collect, use, disclose, and retain information through the Reheard iPhone application and the getreheard.app website.

Information processed by the application

Photos and screenshots

Reheard accesses photos only after you grant permission. Image analysis and optical character recognition, or OCR, run on your device. Reheard does not upload your screenshots to its servers. You can limit or revoke photo access in iOS Settings.

Extracted text and music matches

When you choose to scan, Reheard sends text extracted from screenshots that appear likely to contain music. The text is sent to Reheard’s Cloudflare-hosted service and then to OpenAI to identify a likely song or album. The response may include a title, artist, result type, and confidence value. Reheard then searches music catalogs, including Apple Music and Spotify, for a corresponding result.

Application and purchase information

Reheard processes an installation identifier, App Attest security data, request counts, and limited operational logs to authenticate the application, prevent abuse, and diagnose failures. RevenueCat processes a pseudonymous application user identifier and App Store purchase information to determine whether Reheard Pro is active. Reheard does not receive your complete payment-card information.

Information collected by the website

If you join the waitlist, Reheard collects your email address and, if provided, your first name. It also records the signup date and campaign information included in the link you used. Cloudflare may process routine network information, such as an IP address, browser information, and security signals, when it delivers the website and protects it from abuse.

How information is used

• Identify likely songs and albums from OCR text you submit.
• Find corresponding items in supported music catalogs.
• Authenticate installations and enforce scan allowances and paid access.
• Process purchases, restore access, and provide customer support.
• Send waitlist, pre-order, launch, and other emails you requested.
• Maintain security, prevent abuse, diagnose errors, and improve reliability.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce the Terms of Use.

Service providers and disclosures

Reheard uses service providers only as needed to operate the application and website:

• Cloudflare for application services, hosting, storage, security, and network delivery.
• OpenAI for extracting likely music information from submitted OCR text.
• RevenueCat and Apple for purchases, subscriptions, entitlement verification, and App Store services.
• Apple Music and Spotify for music-catalog searches and links.
• Resend for waitlist and product emails.

These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. Reheard may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, to investigate abuse, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or transfer of the service. Reheard does not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Retention

Reheard’s server does not persist submitted OCR text in its extraction-job database. Active extraction-job records expire after approximately one hour, and completed job results expire after approximately 24 hours. Limited security, quota, purchase-verification, and operational records may be retained as long as reasonably necessary to operate and protect the service. OpenAI may retain API data for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, subject to its applicable data controls and policies.

Music matches and related screenshot records remain on your device until you remove them or delete the application. Waitlist information is retained until you unsubscribe, request deletion, or it is no longer needed for the stated purpose.

Your choices and rights

You can revoke photo access in iOS Settings, unsubscribe through the link in an email, or request access, correction, or deletion of personal information by contacting hello@getreheard.app. Reheard may need to verify a request before acting on it. Depending on where you live, local law may provide additional rights and a right to appeal or contact a privacy regulator.

Security

Reheard uses administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Therefore, absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Children

Reheard is not directed to children under 13, or the higher minimum age required by local law. Reheard does not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information.

International processing

Service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. Reheard uses providers’ contractual and legal mechanisms where required.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as Reheard changes. The effective date will be revised when an update is published. Material changes may also be communicated through the application, website, or email when appropriate.
